Situated noth of Montalcino on the hill of Montosoli,
a particularly ideal area, Le Gode estate extends itself
over about 16 hectares of wich 6 are vineyards registered
for production of Brunello di Montalcino.
The property of the Ripaccioli family, it is to this
day managed by the family.
Gathering the fruits of the labours of the father Ilano
in the seventies, the harvest of 1995 marked the first
production and marketing of Brunello di Montalcino.
The farm house and cellar have been meticulously restored
in keeping with the tradition of Tuscan farm houses.
In addition the cellar is equipped with the latest technology
serving a traditional philosophy of production. Vinification
is carried out in stainless steel vats with capacities
from 50 to 75 hectolitres at a controlled temperature.
The next step of ageing takes place in places in the
cellar where, in a suitable environment, the Brunello
di Montalcino matures and evolves in Slovenian oak casks
with an average capacity of 25 hectolitres for a period
which, while varying acoording to the characteristics
of the year, is never less than two years.
The positioning of the vineyards to obtain optimum sunlight,
the particularly favourable microclimate and peculiarity
of the terrain together with the expert labour of the
Ripaccioli family, both on the vines and in the cellar,
contribute to obtaining wines of high quality with unique
charateristics.
