Brunello di Montalcino fruit of
a carefull selection of grapes, refines and evolves
its character in the bottle for a period of eight
to ten months after a period of around three years
of refinement in Slavonian oak casks. It is intense
ruby red in colours, tending towards garnet, with
a charateristic smell with tones of small red fruits,
scents of the forest and spices and vanilla. It
has a very persistent, ample velvety bouquet. It
goes well with complex entrees, game and traditional
Tuscan mature cheeses and salamis.
A glass is advisable before any important decision.
Rosso di Montalcino, coming from
the same vineyards but being aged less than Brunello,
is obtained by a carefull selection in the cellar
to evaluate freshness of smells and the traditional
taste of this wine.
After a refinement of around 7 months in small capacity
oak barrels and 4 months in the bottle it is ready
for marketing. It has an intense, brillant ruby
red colour, with an ample charateristic smell in
which small fresh fruit can be recognised.
A good body and structure permit combination both
with traditional Tuscan appetizers and entrees,
or with international cuisine. |
